Dr. Shubra Singh from Anna University has significantly contributed to energy & environmental remediation. Her research achievements have been featured in The New Indian Express (2022, 2025). She is credited recently with a Technology Transfer & Consultancy (2024) to REGENIX DRUGS Ltd with an innovation which has tremendous potential to change the efficiency of cervical cancer detection & biomedical applications by an indigenous development. In 2023, she was part of the Indian delegation to the University of Sydney for the Australia Awards Fellowship, focusing on net zero emissions. In 2025, she was among 15 women selected by DST & the British Council under the UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI). She is the recipient of INSA Visiting Scientist Fellowship, CEFIPRA Fellowship by Indo-French Centre, Woman Scientist Award at NBL (NIT Srinagar), and Visiting Faculty Fellowship from JNCASR. She led the design of a 24x7 automated water treatment system, which won two best prototype awards at IECS Hackathons (2023, 2024), earning citations, cash prizes & Excellent rating from SERB. Her research group has been recognized with the Fulbright Scholarship, QuantEmX Award (USA), ICTN (2023) award for Encyclopedia of Nanotechnology by Springer. They were also finalists at the Euraxess Science Slam (2023) by European Union. Dr. Singh has completed 15 funded projects worth Rs. 5 crores and has four ongoing projects. Her academic contributions include one book (Wiley India), eight book chapters (Springer, ACS)- four granted, three filed patents.

Her work has been selected as cover art for future issue of ACS Applied Energy Materials (2025). Dr. Singh actively promotes science through initiatives like the DST-sponsored Karyashala, mentoring of young researchers through Academy of Sciences, Chennai, Leadership for Women in STEM, MHRD-SPARC etc and has also contributed immensely to University’s administration. She is a trained Mentor for Leadership for Women in STEM, and has organized various mentoring and leadership training programs across universities.
