Anna University conducts cutting edge research in basic sciences, engineering and technology.On 28 th December 2005, the Anna University resolved to establish a dedicated centre for establishing direct links among the research and subsequent business processes involving external stake holders. In February 2007, “Centre for Technology Development and Transfer” (CTDT) was established and renamed as Centre for Sponsored Research and Consultancy (CSRC) in 2022 to facilitate internal processes for implementation of consultancy and sponsored projects and at the same time liaise with stake holders including the public funded agencies and private players investing into the research at Anna University.

CSRC looks after all the STATE AND CENTRAL sponsored research activities which includes project submission, project fund management,interactions with the funding agency and technology transfer.CSRC not only looks after the administrative and financial aspects of sponsored research projects but also play a pivotal role in industrial consultancy services. The centre plays the critical function and proactive role of “playing one stop centre” for all activities related to research,consultancy and training.
